It is important to floss a minimum of once a day, but ideally twice.
  • If you are flossing once, the evening prior to bed is best
  • Do not be discouraged by bleeding when you initially begin a daily flossing routine, it is simply an inflammatory reaction from your gums
  • With continual flossing, by the third or fourth week yours gums should heal and you will notice decreased bleeding.
  • We also recommend use of a warm salt water rinse for those who have not been flossing on a regular basis

It is very important to brush at least twice a day
  • Keep in mind, excessive pressure, particularly along the gum line can do more harm than good to the gingiva
  • If you notice any sensitivity while brushing or flossing, please keep these areas noted and let us know on your next visit.
